Green

Green is one of the main antagonists in the Larva franchise.

His first appearance and debut was in Swamp. He always returns in most of the franchise whether it's own seasons, spin-off, comics, or even games. Green is supposed to be a white tree frog, But not anymore in Larva Family (Season 5).

Looks[]

Green is a frog with big, bulging eyes and bright green skin. He has red, rosy cheeks, and the areas around his cheeks and butt are dark forest green. He has a single curly hair on his forehead.

Personality[]

Green is depicted as greedy most of the time, gluttonious (well he's a frog afterall), and cruel just like his other friends (grey and the silvers). In season 1 he's seems to be short-tempered and easily annoyed, but its kind of changed in season 3 where out of the 4 he's the most calm and worried one (a.k.a the only braincell of the villain group, grey being the maniac one and the silvers being the dumb ones). He's also as talented as Grey is some of the episodes he appears if he isnt shown to eat the bugs he usually do some tricks (playing piano, break-dancing, ice-skating,etc). Also he is shown to be respectful fighter, when both him and prism collapsed after fighting each other he respects his power and become friends with him. He's the second genius of the gang.

Thus, he was somewhat absent in season 5, but instead, a whole kind of his kinds are inside the Greenhouse.

Turns out from the concept of how Green is started at the very beginning, his designs from Dea-Bum, Kim was ferocious, territorial, terrifying along easy to loose temper and gone crazy (most of his drawings from Kim's art style always has the crazy pupilated eyes), not to mention cruel and monopolizing. This start to loosen up by Byoung-Wook, Ahn’s art style version which showing him more silly and less evil driven than he used to be started from the Season 2 episode, Frog. This also later on expanded and more habit making him a silly villain that no longer seems threatening but rather always got reverse-toured by the bugs since Season 3, can be seen from Mi-Seon An and Min-Seong Kang’s art style of him.

Trivia[]

  • His name is arguable since in season 1, the first one to be named green was the carnivorous plant, he was just called “frog” back then. Until somewhere between season 2-3, TubaN decided choosing him as the owner name of Green (since he always appear at some point).[2]
  • Either, he is Tuba N’s favourite predator or what because he is the oldest one (beside Navy and the carnivorous plant) he ALWAYS appear either in each seasons, in each franchise, game, comic, theme park, etc, he will be there for sure.
  • He has many friends. (except prussian, maroon, Bavy, and Clara. Booby is former underling)
  • He's talented, but the term "karate" as the official Tuba N said he can do karate, but he does the breakdance instead.
  • He's the fourth position as a predator that can be a frenemy to Yellow and Red (first is Grey, second was Maroon. No, Clara didn't count in this category, Booby is the third) because at his first episode introduction, the Episode frog. If Yellow and Red kept croaking and pretend to be frogs as well, he may think those two are actual baby froggies and won’t eat them (but alas frog is cannibalism). To back up this, he actually greets Yellow and Red "a good day!" in a video in larva kids
  • Funny how his head wasn’t shiny as the silver twins, because he has 1 singular hair while the rest is bald.
  • In reality, frogs aren't suppose wandering around like he is, if frogs exposed to dirty, non humid area they will get sick instantly (you have no idea; i was scared he's gonna be flung into the ocean in larva island, thank goodness its not happening).
  • The same way as other predators, how did all of them tried to eat Black? his shell/shield supposed to harm them if they ever just swallow him whole. Honestly him chugging down the rangers badges to begin with should make him instantly sick, yet he still survived.
  • Like the silvers’ eyes, his eyes also look different directions. only one eye focus at something/both eyes will focused if he literally focus at something.
  • Is Frogon his offspring? who knows.
  • His voice in season 1, his debut: Swamp depicted as an low tone voice like black does. but in season 2, it changes into a bit high pitch as high as Prussian/ or now in season 3 similar to Grey's voice.
  • Of all predators, he's the one is the only one shown ever bleeding (while picking his nose in super glue from season 1, maybe the epilogue from the episode swamp because Yellow and Red are escaping from inside him, through his nose, so he may kind of check it with the mirror? or he was just picking his nose and we’re just overthinking this).
  • In the Larva Heroes game series, he is depicted as the "Frankenstein" boss for world 3th and 4th.
  • In one of the comic with dialogue, Yellow and Red did see him as frenemies just like Grey, his debut, Swamp in the comic version as Yellow tries to save Red while green also drown in the swamp, Yellow literally said to him "I know we are enemy! we can help each other live" but green quickly baffled and said "help as you want! you guys are just like this fly" he said while snatching the fly that flies by.
  • For the first time in the franchise, green is not with his gang in the larva rangers arc, yes in larva family rangers episodes he is shown nowhere to be seen, even if theres many of other "him" probably live inside the greenhouse, it’s unknown of what happen to him or what happen after the throwing aftermath in larva island’s larva rangers episodes.
  • In Larva Family, there is a massive amount of frogs that is a clone of him.
  • in one of on going from the web comic series "larva romance", an alternate universe where yellow, red and pink are high-school students once again, he is not around grey and the twins, well not yet ill edit this fact if he does appear there. between options of jock, loner or emo, the artist picked him as emo student.   • The korean wiki confirm green might gets thrown to new york while the other of his group ends up in greenhouse [4]
  • The korean wiki stated that green is like Diluk Oktavius, one of the villains in the Tobot series. But honestly he's more like Slithe from the Thundercats franchise (with grey being the vulture man role, and the twins being the brawn roles from monkian and jackalman) which all of them often fails but still determined to kept return.
  • On one of the concept arts of green, might be the concept episode of Frog in season 1, it can be seen that green originally as big as yellow and red is, makes sense he mistook them as frogs too since they croak along.
  • The way he's depicted in the 2d sketches, Dea-Bum Kim always draws his cheek droopy, thicker lips along eyes that always veiny along dilated pupils. Byoung-Wook Ahn sometimes draws him with droopy cheek, but less detailed, at times hes just round and more cuter. This follows with Mi-Seon An and Min-Seong Kang drawings of him that more cute and sillier design of him, still keeping the crazy eye at times. Seung-Hun Kim art style of him more slender, and still silly.
  • Knowing that Season 1 ever aired in Mondo Media, the creator of Happy Tree Friends, Green’s crazy eyes is kinda like Fliqpy’s eyes (Flippy’s "flipped out" alternate evil version of himself), If red can changed into wild red, than it kinda make sense. Also no wonder he's emo in Larva Romance.
  • If the concept grey was brown (like Jerry in Tom & Jerry), then just perhaps the four of them is just alter versions of black, brown, yellow and red. With Green the Frog being the altered version if black, was the predator (make sense since if his alter game version was Captain Frankenstein, the one who always put to be the Frankenstein in Larva Kids was Black).
  • In that old korean folktale, green the frog (청개구리) are term to call brat kids who disobey their parents and do the exact opposite what their parents told them, the fact its also a tree frog like green is. now does this have to do anything with his name removed to only "frog"? is he not evil anymore?[5]
  • speaking of korean idioms too, there is another one "개구리 올챙이 적 생각 못한다" which literal translated to "the frog forgets that he was once a tadpole" now you can noticed clear too there are many "green" clones in Larva family, and only three that looks different. The default green model we kept seeing might be a "juvenile" frog, while the other three already grows up, evolved in Pokemon term like many of eevees evolution. This might explain if green was one of the frogs there, he's trying to forget his past with his old friends. [6]
  • In the third season of larva in china (爆笑虫子在中国 七彩乐园篇) episode 21, Green is farsighted (in the epilogue, he hardly sees yellow and red that is literal in front of him). In same episode as well, he freezes when light turned on. This also naturally happens from one of the frog research, how some frog species will freeze under artificial light.[7]
  • Unlike grey and the silver twins who already has old/early version of themselves, Green had no early versions, and didn’t have an early version on the swamp animatic.
  • In the china series, green seems like having this kiss or to be kissed gag between him and the bugs (rainbow and yellow so far that actually kissed him) in Season 2 Episode 08 Tin Frog and Season 3 Episode 21 Chinese Opera.
  • It is unknown how the rest characters outside yellow, red, pink, black, brown, ivory and cocoa even ends up in china. Prussian, prism and maroon might get taken by new owner to china. But the villain gang: grey, green and the silver twins? they might just follow them from far as usual. and as much prism is shown wandering around freely on the street, he havent bumped to green yet.
  • The news announcement mentioned about larva avenger a.k.a larva rangers version for china but so far no signs of it actually happens, more like green only hangs with the other in one epilogue, and there is larva rangers banner on the truck that carrying the bugs to china in episode 23话 快速前进上/ Fast forward part 1.
  • Since season 5, he's never mentioned as Green anymore. Returned to be called Frog, even until now.
