Larva Pendant is a Netflix original short film. It serves as a sequel to the Larva Island series.

Plot[]

The movie starts at night where we see Red and Yellow in the end of Drift. Red is sleeping, dreaming about Mango and how she jumped off the boat to save the island separating their relationship on Drift. He started to cry, filling the outline of the sculpture he carved. The sculpture was himself and Mango. Suddenly, the moon's light cover the sculpture with Red's tears, making it magical.

In the morning, Red woke up and he looked at the wooden sculptures of Mango & Him, in which he cried. After that, he heard Yellow laughing and he went to check on him. Yellow was just fishing and was as tired and hungry as Red was. All of a sudden, Yellow did catch a fish and Red helped him to drag the fish on the log they were staying, the log was going overboard that it speeds up on the water, The two manages to catch the fish. It was a cute baby swordfish.

They both resisted their hunger and told the baby fish to go back into the water. The baby swordfish got close to the edge of the log, but Red and Yellow did catch him and were ready to eat him. The baby fish started to cry, This causes the swordfish (aka: their mother) attacked Red and Yellow. This goes for a second, The two immediately makes them to go back to the water, but it returned. They didn't stop crying until its mother destroyed the log leaving the larvae on little wood pieces. Red screamed after Yellow ,because he wasn't in his sight, but then he saw the sculpture of Mango and he went to get it out of the wooden piece. He tried to pull it out but Yellow who was on the other side of the plank was making Red's job difficult unbalancing the wooden piece. They eventually got it out and were in the water. That's when a giant ship hit them and they were stuck on the front of the ship.

They were going to the city, but the carved sculpture of Red was floating on the water and it arrived back at the island. In the city, there was an apartment where a human scientist was using different bugs for his experiments. He grabbed Asphalt; the Blue Bee, and moments before putting her in the machine, but she stung him and flew away. The human scientist was mad and he ordered his cat (Malt) to follow and catch her.

Asphalt ran away and hid inside the box, after hiding, that's when she heard a noise. The noise came from Yellow who's playing with a tiny bell. Red was wearing the mini sculpture of Mango around his neck. He was thinking about her holding the sculpture when Yellow hit him by mistake. Red was furious and he threw the bell away. That's when a wonderful smell came to them. It was the smell of fresh sausages and they ran to eat them. Red tripped and fell in front of a glass bottle.

The magical sculpture showed in the reflection how Mango saw the wooden plank with the other sculpture with Red, but he didn't see it and went after Yellow. Asphalt kicked the bell away and went out of her hide spot, but when the crushed bell came back to her, Malt appeared behind her and he caught her. Red and Yellow on the other hand ate all the sausages and they were living their best life. Yellow spotted a different sausage and he tried it. The sausage was spicy, which this causes Yellow to blast out fire from his mouth and he burned the salesman's hair. The man cried and he hit the larvae with an electric palette. Yellow got hit and he fell down while Red was protected by the sculpture. Red saw it and he quickly ran away to the edge of the stand where the Man couldn't reach to hit him.

The man threw a knife in front of Red. The sculpture again used the reflection, but this time of the knife and Red saw Mango's reaction when she saw the carved sculpture of him. Malt saw the bright light that was caused by the sculpture and he was interested in it. Eventually, the man fingered his palette and hit Red. Yellow tried to catch Red, but he failed. Red was mad, but when Malt approached them, the two ran away. Malt chased them through the whole city even when the larvae were on a monocycle. Eventually, Malt caught Yellow, but just because Yellow fell off the monocycle with the sculpture of Mango and he went back to get it. (because he knew how important the sculpture was to Red).

Back on the Island, Mango touched the sculpture of Red and the water reflection showed him, but she panicked. She grabbed the wood and placed it in her house. It started to rain and she beat her drum creating some leaves on top of the sculpture of Red. She touched the sculpture once again and she saw that Red and Yellow were in danger. She remained very confused but worried too.

In the city, when the monocycle stopped Red started to cry, because he knew he lost Yellow. That's when a man passed by on a bike and his wallet fell in front of Red. In the wallet, there was a photo of a human and a cat. Red immediately recognized the cat and he hid on the man's bike wheel while he was buying some sausages. When they arrived, the human scientist entered the building, but Red didn't make it in time so the doors closed before he could enter. He entered the vent and slide down directly into the human's apartment. There were Asphalt and Yellow trying to escape a box they were put in. Red fell down in Malt's food bowl, but he was quick to run away. The human scientist grabbed Asphalt and he threw her in the machine. The experiment didn't work and he was still bald. Red mocks him, and the scientist tried to get Yellow in the machine for another try. Yellow dodged him a few times and he even bit the man, but he wasn't letting him go.

That's when the postman rang the doorbell. The human scientist put Yellow back in the box and he goes out at the front door. Red saved Yellow pulling him out of the box. They hugged and were ready to go. Yellow gave Red the sculpture of Mango. Red was happy and puts it around his neck, but the light coming from the reflections was alerting Malt. Red covered himself in a cape and they went to the window. Red jumped on top of the window handle, but his cape got off.

He tried to catch it, but he fell and the sculpture made a very bright light with the window reflection. Malt eventually saw them and he chased them again, but this time in his home. Yellow stole a spicy sausage and ate it. He then spit out fire and he burned Malt's front fur. Malt remained in shock for some seconds giving the larvae an opportunity to run away through the vent. While running in the vent, Yellow's cape dragged him back along with Red and they both fell back into the apartment. Malt ate Yellow and Red fell in the machine that was on.

At the island, Mango pulled out the sculpture and was trying desperately to see Red in the reflections around her. She looked around the entire island and she finally found a mirror that was probably Chuck's. She approached the mirror with the sculpture and she saw Red's fall at the window earlier and she remained shocked and worried yet again.

Red tried to open the box he was in, but he wasn't strong enough and he ended up hurting himself. He grabbed the sculpture of Mango and it got activated and he could see her in the reflection.

They were both looking at each other at the same time holding the magic sculptures. Red was so happy to see that Mango is alive and Mango missed him so much. That's when a toxic gas was sprayed in the box Red was in. Red was struggling to breathe while Mango was worried looking at him. Eventually Red passed out and the transition ended. Mango was scared and she saw that the magic sculpture in her hand was turning purple. She remembered the effects her drums had on the plank and she had an idea to use it on the magic sculpture. Mango ran to her house and she beat her drum but this time on the sculpture. She had grown a tree inside the scientist's apartment and her house, but the tree was used to get Red some superpowers.

The machine exploded and Malt was confused. Red was flying and had some Superman kind of hairstyle and a cape, realizing he was a super-man larva now. Malt rushed to hit Red, but it wasn't showing any effects. Red laughed and farted on Malt, then was thrown at the other side of the room. Malt was choking on something (Yellow), then Red saw Yellow in Malt's mouth. Red got angry and hit Malt in his stomach and made him spit out Yellow. Red went to Yellow where he saw how bad Yellow's health was. Yellow said goodbye, insanity dies and his soul started to fly to heaven. Red tried to catch him but Yellow was a spirit already. Red went back in time with his super speed by reversing the earth, and was ready to save Yellow.

He punched Malt once again, but Yellow was still in a bad condition and dies again, the same scene shows again. This time, Red grabbed rings from the sausage spirits to become an angle, dragged Yellow's soul back into his body and revived him. Red was happy that Yellow came back, but The human scientist entered the room and saw the mess, Red grabbed Yellow and flew away. Red was flying with Yellow in his "arms", they were both happy that they escaped and nothing can stop them. Right when they were above the clouds, Red's superpowers had disappeared and they fell.

At the island, Mango looked at the sky and saw a cloud in Red's form and she smiled. She was ready to leave the island. The other island inhabitants made her some food for the trip. Mango thanked them and she got on the boat that was pushed away by the muscular mudskipper. She waved at them saying goodbye. Now she is ready to be reunited with Red and Yellow again, especially Red.

Yellow and Red were back in the city. Yellow grabbed the blue cape and he tried to fly. He was actually in the air and so was Red, but it turns out there were captured by an owl. The owl took them to her nest where the larvae will begin a new story.

  • In one of the scenes in the film, there is a video game reference scene when Malt is chasing Red and Yellow, the background music changes to the Super Mario Brothers video game theme. They hit yellow blocks and eat mushrooms just like in the actual game.
  • The human scientist only appeared in this movie.
  • This is the second movie from the Larva franchise, the first being Larva Island: The Movie, and the third will be Larva: The Movie.
